I've been working with Obatala. In this short video, I explain some of what I have learned and how I have grown since I began working with him a few weeks ago when I began work with the Occupy Memphis group. He's a powerful Orisha who has a lot of wisdom to teach.
In the spirit of Obatala's teaching of how to communicate in a level headed way, I thought I'd share this article that I found - How to Lead a Conversation That Can Change Your Community. May Obatala richly bless all of us who are reaching out to each other, listening and talking to one another, and crossing our differences and divides to come together for our common good.
A few plugs for some friends:
Marisa at BovedaBeads.com and Vajra at ConjureOils.com have been graciously giving me some good advice regarding the Orisha. Check these talented women out. It's been nice getting their perspectives on the Orisha, and I appreciate it.
Nancy at NancysHolistics.com is a dear friend and brings a lot of spiritual insight with her. She gifted me the white snow quartz bead mala with Kwan Yin pendant in the fore of the altar. She sits near Obatala on the altar and she brings compassion. The beads are nice to hold when I meditate and the stones are so cool and fresh feeling.
